It demonstrates our commitment to preserving this unique natural heritage, a true ecological treasure, and passing it on to future generations. David Lisnard, mayor of Cannes
The preservation of Posidonia in the Bay of Cannes constitutes a crucial ecological issue. Indeed, Posidonia, a protected species endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, represents one of the main sources of oxygen for the ecosystem of coastal areas, producing between 14 and 20 liters of oxygen per m² per day.
-Since 2014, Cannes Town Hall has launched several projects aimed at preserving the Mediterranean. Initiated by David Lisnard, this approach illustrates a contemporary vision of ecology, focused on innovation, investment and scientific and technical advances.
