On September 28, 2020, after two days of searching, the body of Victorine Dartois was found immersed in a stream in Villefontaine, in Isère. At 18, the young girl had just started a BTS in communications. Immersed in water, the body was discovered under a pile of branches and the young girl's jeans had been abandoned a few meters away. According to the autopsy, Victorine had been strangled and then drowned by her murderer. On October 14, 2020, the accused, Ludovic B., was arrested and immediately confessed to the facts. In police custody, he had in fact claimed to have encountered the victim while jogging then, after an “involuntary” shove and an argument, to have “panicked” and “squeezed the neck” of the student before hiding her body . This Thursday, December 5, 2024, life imprisonment was requested against him.
After nine days of trial before the Assize Court of Isère, in Grenoble, the attorney general requested life imprisonment against Ludovic B. According to her, the man, now aged 29 years old, would not have really killed the student on “a whim”, but rather according to a “carefully calculated scenario”, “acting in a predatory mode”. To this sentence, the Attorney General requests that a security period of 25 years be associated with it.
