“Rivière” won the Opal Prize on Thursday evening. The Franco-Swiss film received the distinction from the Delémont-Hollywood youth jury at Cinémont in Delémont, in the presence of an “enthusiastic audience” of more than 250 people, indicates the festival. The feature film directed by Franco-Swiss Hugues Hariche was particularly praised for its “magnificent cinematography” expressed through its “grain, its colors, the framing and the lighting atmosphere”.
“Rivière” was partly filmed in the Saignelégier ice rink and involved several artists and technicians from the region. The young Jura filmmaker Pauline Jeanbourquin, a FARB grantee, assisted in the making of the film and participated in the location scouting and casting. The work, released in theaters a little over a year ago, also saw the first steps of two young hockey players in the world of cinema. Till Clémence and Tom Nappiot, HCC juniors, filmed alongside French actress Flavie Delangle. Both were present during the Opale Prize ceremony.
“A great turnout” for Schools
The Delémont-Hollywood school screenings are ending these days. The festival boasts a “great turnout” with more than 6,880 students registered and more than 500 accompanying people. Proof that the event is “well anchored in the educational and cultural landscape”, rejoice the organizers. Les Scolaires organized around 200 screenings in eight cinemas in the Jura and Bernese Jura.
Delémont-Hollywood also carried out an operation to arouse the interest of the general public, in the form of a leaflet program given to classes in the Delémont Valley and sometimes provided with a cinema ticket. The objective is in particular to encourage parents to accompany their children into a dark room so that they can then discuss it together.
The festival is organizing two other evenings soon. The intimate documentary “Roger, my brother” by Jean-Vital Joliat, a Jura director based in Quebec, will be screened on Sunday, December 8 at 8:30 p.m. at the La Grange cinema in Delémont. A film discussion evening organized with the O2 Foundation and Appel d’air takes place on Wednesday December 11 from 6 p.m. at Cinémont, around the film “The Sense of Chaos”. Entrance is free and open to all. /comm-jad
