Commander Aurélie Robin-Rabusseau, head of the -Centre Fire and Rescue Center (CIS), and senior lieutenant Cyril Venière, head of the CIS -Agglo, wanted to organize a friendly ceremony on the occasion of the Sainte-Barbe, patron saint of firefighters, in agreement with Commander Éric Foussard.

Saturday, November 30, 2024, families came in large numbers to honor those promoted to the higher rank, the recipients of medals and the young firefighters receiving their badges, the colors green, orange, yellow and white displaying the number of years of training. After the review of the troops, the authorities, including the senators of Indre-et- Jean-Gérard Paumier and Paul-Alain Roiron, paid tribute to the sappers who died on duty and proceeded to lay wreaths.

During her speech, Aurélie Robin-Rabusseau warmly congratulated “those who work daily for your safety, the promoted and recipients being very numerous this morning: two lieutenants, nine sergeants, five warrant officers, a master corporal and twenty-two young firefighters’ badges. You can all be proud of your new stripes! »

The head of the CIS of Tours-Centre also mentioned “taking office on 1is June 2024 by Lieutenant Sébastien Simon. We have been equipped with new vehicles and new alert software to respond more effectively to emergencies and better coordinate our actions on the ground. We faced the floods of the Easter weekend, the silo fire in Villedômer and came to support the Olympic Games, in the region and in Châteauroux. »

With a voice full of emotion, the commander announced her departure as head of the center: “On December 31, I will leave for new adventures in the logistics and equipment group. I am happy to have been at the head of the largest Sdis center in Indre-et-Loire and so proud of this barracks! »

For his part, Cyril Venière welcomed “this 20e Saint-Barbe de Nord-Agglo. Our October open days attracted 3,600 visitors and we provided 4,900 interventions. Each call, whatever its size, is unique and at the service of residents. » The mayor of Tours, Emmanuel Denis, expressed his “admiration for the work of firefighters who save lives and reduce damage to property. I salute the younger generations who are working for the next generation. »
