Present at a press conference before the Brest reception this Friday (7 p.m.), Gabriel Gudmundsson looked ahead to this crucial meeting for LOSCagainst a club also qualified in the Champions League.
Gabriel, have you digested the frustration caused by the draw in Montpellier?
“We have a match which is very important for us tomorrow. We lost two points in Montpellier. If we want to continue to be placed at the top of the rankings, this is a match that can put us back on the right path and allow us to maintain our position, even if it will be difficult.
It's a Champions League match…
For French football, perhaps. For us, it's a match like any other that can allow us to continue our momentum. Brest is a team that has a lot of quality, quality players, who play with a lot of intensity.
Do you agree that you are the two surprises of the season in the Champions League?
If we look at the odds before the competition, I think a lot of people didn't expect us to be at this level. It's very important for Ligue 1 to have teams fighting for the best positions. I will be happy if Brest – and even Monaco and Paris – are here. But we will be focused on getting a good result tomorrow and finishing the year well. »
