The late match against CF: the date announced

Real Madrid have a match in hand in La Liga following flooding which prevented the match against Valencia CF from taking place in early November. The new date has just been designated: January 2, 2025 at 8 p.m.

Following the floods which hit the south-east of Spain at the end of October and the beginning of November, the match scheduled for November 2 in Valencia was postponed. According to information from ASthis late meeting has been rescheduled for January 2 at 8 p.m.

A meeting against Valencia which shakes up the calendar

The date chosen leaves coaches with only three days to prepare for this confrontation, after the obligatory seven days of vacation imposed by the rules during the end-of-year holidays. The two teams will also face each other on January 5, three days later, for the round of 16 of the King's Cup. Real Madrid would have preferred that the two matches were reversed in order to have more time to prepare for this important match in La Liga. However, Valencia refused, insisting on maintaining the planned schedule for the Cup.

In anticipation of this new date, the RFEF has already decided to postpone the Spanish Super Cup match between Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca by one day, now scheduled for January 9 instead of January 8. This decision aims to slightly alleviate the Madrid calendar to avoid an unfair overload.
