PSG has changed its face in recent seasons with the departure of its stars. The Emir of Qatar could validate the idea of disengagement.
In today's edition, The Team devotes several pages to PSG and its president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. The latter affirms that the ambitions of the Parisian owners have not changed. He also defends the Club World Cup, a new competition model which considerably increases the international calendar. But the sports daily also reveals the change in mindset of the Qataris.
According to its information, Doha displays “a pronounced detachment” since the end of the 2022 World Cup, which would be accompanied by a “lowering the sail in terms of investment”. The media adds that certain sources close to power circles in Doha “ensure that the emir would be a seller in the event of a good offer”.
-As a reminder, Qatar bought PSG in 2011. The billions invested since then have profoundly changed the balance of power in L1, and even in Europe, where financial fair play has not played its role. A departure would clearly change the situation and would possibly not be received unfavorably in other French clubs, and in particular in Marseille.
