A little over a week has passed since Garmin released public beta 21.19 for its recent Forerunner smartwatches, including the Forerunner 965 (currently $564.99 at Amazon). As we noted at the time, Garmin referred to the beta as a Release Candidate. So it looked like Public Beta version 21.19 would be the basis of the next stable update for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, and Forerunner 955.
This is now a thing with the rollout of software version 21.19 for all Forerunner smartwatches introduced starting in 2022. However, it appears that the new update contains a bug or two that has slipped through the cracks for beta testing. On the one hand, Garmin includes the following disclaimer in most of its edit lists:
Once the device software has been updated, users are recommended to sync their devices using Garmin Express or Wi-Fi to speed up the transfer of files needed for device activity. meditation.
On the other hand, the company acknowledged that this same update could cause the touch screen to malfunction in some cases. Specifically, some Forerunner owners are reporting that software version 21.19 prevents their device from disabling the touchscreen during activity. As of now, Garmin has not found a solution to this problem, although it is already investigating the matter. For your information, software version 21.19 brings the following changes to all recent Forerunner smartwatches:
