Has there been negligence within the Grâne EHPAD, in Drôme? On the evening of Saturday, November 30, the night shift first noticed that the door to a room where household products are stored had been broken. At 9 p.m., four residents were treated by staff after ingesting a liquid intended for dishwashers. When firefighters arrived at 9:25 p.m., two residents were in absolute emergency. They have since died.

The other two have since been out of danger. The establishment welcomes many Alzheimer's patients. How did they gain access to dangerous products? In an interview with Dauphiné Libéré, the director mentions “a serious malfunction“, without providing further details.

The mayor of the town, Jean-Paul Xatard, wonders: “There was one thing that was done wrong.” According to him, no problem had previously been reported to the town hall, information confirmed by the families of the residents met by the France Télévisions team. An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie for involuntary homicide.
