The first conclusions of the expertise have been released. After the fire on Monday December 2, 2024 in the Maison Rouge district, in Louviers (Eure), tenants will not be able to return to their homes. “We do not yet have the definitive conclusions,” explains Ludovic Gombert, communications manager for social landlord MonLogement27. But the slab was seriously damaged by the fire. »

However, this is the element which structures both the floor of the upper floor and the ceiling of the lower floor. “Even if some housing has not been impacted for the moment, if it breaks, there is a risk of a domino effect. So tenants are prohibited from accessing the building,” announces Ludovic Gombert. In total, thirty homes are affected by this measure.

A third of tenants in temporary accommodation

According to the lessor, two thirds of tenants have already received an offer rehousing in the Louviers region, “either in the vacant park, or with other landlords”. The last third would still be in temporary accommodation. “Everything is being put in place, on a case-by-case basis,” says the communications manager.

So far, I haven’t been offered anything.

Met near the scene of the tragedy, a tenant of the Hortensia building, who preferred to remain anonymous, explains that she has been staying at the hotel since the fire. “We are covered by insurance until Friday. Afterwards, I don’t know where I’m going to go… she worries. Every day my son asks “when are we going home?” »

Mothershe would have received the guarantee of being considered a priority for rehousing. “For the moment, I have not been offered anything,” nevertheless assures the young woman.

As for MonLogement27, the next step will consist of securing the building, “in order to be able to return calmly and start costing the work,” indicates Ludovic Gombert. The lessor is not yet able to assess the financial impact of the fire.
