An investigation has been opened for injuries and manslaughter, to determine whether there was negligence on the part of the establishment.

Two residents of a nursing home in Grâne, in Drôme, died after ingesting dishwasher rinsing liquid, the prosecution announced on Tuesday, December 3. Three men aged over 85, residents at the Maison des Buis nursing home, drank this product on Saturday, in circumstances which remain to be determined, Valence prosecutor Laurent de Caigny told AFP.
A first resident died Monday in hospital. A second died Tuesday morning, according to the prosecution, confirming information from the Dauphiné released. The third is still in intensive care. A fourth resident was more lightly injured, having only put her finger in the product, according to the prosecution.
