Author of the equalizing goal against France in the semi-final of Euro 2024, the Spanish phenomenon Lamine Yamal became on Tuesday the youngest player to score in a European championship at 16 years and 362 days.

The FC Barcelona winger unleashed a sharp left-footed shot that beat French goalkeeper Mike Maignan with the help of the post, allowing Spain to get back into the game in the 21st minute of play. He beat Switzerland’s Johan Vonlanthen, the previous record holder with a goal at 18 years and 141 days at Euro 2004, also against France.
