From Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1, the Témiscouata Minor Ice Ball (BSG) hosted the Desjardins Minor Provincial Tournament. More than 250 players competed in the 32 matches on show. More than 1,700 people attended the tournament where the minor BSG teams collected 5 gold medals.
In the M10 category where 5 teams competed for first place on the podium, the Red Blitz defeated the Black Blitz by a score of 3 to 2 in overtime in an all-Témiscouata final. The Blitz did it again in the men’s U16 as they defeated the Dynamite de L’Assomption by a score of 1 to 0 in the 2nd overtime period of the final. Their big brothers in the men’s U19 were not to be outdone as they won their final by a score of 5 to 1, also facing Dynamite.
In the U12 women’s category, the T-Miss won 1-0 in the final against the Mini-chouettes of Sayabec in a hotly contested match. The 5th team from the minor BSG of Témiscouata which won a gold medal was the T-Miss M14 women’s team which won in total points following 3 games played against the Sayabec RPF.
The M12 men’s category was won by the Sayabec RPF who defeated the White Blitz by a score of 2 to 1 in the final match. The Desjardins Minor Provincial Tournament also hosted the M8 category where 4 teams were able to play matches on half-ice.
