Vehicles caught fire
Three vehicles parked in a courtyard caught fire for a reason that the gendarmerie investigation will determine.
The flames quickly spread to and garage adjoining a habitation.
Quickly alerted, the Departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) of Loire-Atlantique mobilized eighteen firefighters, who intervened with five engines.
The barracks of Villeneuve-en-Retz, La Bernerie-en-Retz and Pornic were mobilized.
Coming from La Montagne, firefighters provided logistical support by supplying the firefighters with compressed air bottles and meals. The intervention required three fire hoses and lasted two hours.
The house was empty at the time of the fire.
Fortunately, the house was empty at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The emergency services, however, had to evacuate an aviary containing many birds.
The owner, present on the scene, was very shocked. His home is now unusable.
L’electricity was cut off in the neighborhood (around twenty houses) for the duration of the firefighter intervention.
The national gendarmerie, Enedis and an on-call elected official were also present on the scene.
