A gas leak blocks the city center of The Hague, in the Center-Channel, for almost two hours

Work in the town of La Haye (Manche) caused a gas leak on Tuesday December 3, 2024. Traffic was prohibited between Place de Gaulle and Rue des Écoles at the start of the afternoon.

Work accidentally caused a gas leak in the town of La Haye (Manche), rue du Docteur-Callegari, Tuesday December 3, 2024. The gendarmerie was contacted shortly after noon to evacuate the perimeter between Place de Gaulle and rue of Schools, then close traffic to cars and pedestrians while the firefighters intervene.

Residents were also evacuated but “no one was inconvenienced” by gas fumes, according to the gendarmerie. The situation returned to normal and traffic was restored around 2 p.m.
