The man who lost his life in a fire in Saint-Georges de Beauce on November 15 is indeed the owner of the place, as his loved ones feared.

Coroner Donald Nicole confirmed the identity of the victim Tuesday morning. This is Michel Lagueux, a 58-year-old man from Saint-Gédéon-de-Beauce.

“An investigation to shed light on the causes and circumstances surrounding the death is underway,” said the Coroner’s Office.

Remember that the fire broke out in the evening in a building on 120th Street. An explosion was heard hundreds of meters away.

Relatives of the owner of the premises feared that it was Mr. Lagueux, as his truck was parked in front of the residence at the time of the fire. Their fears were finally confirmed.

The circumstances surrounding the origin of the explosion remain unclear at the time of writing.
