If K-Dramas are popular on Netflix, the streaming platform also offers its subscribers numerous dramas from other Asian countries and will soon add a new one to its catalog. As revealed in a press release, Netflix will exclusively broadcast the series Perfect Match on a date yet to be determined.
In this series set during the reign of Renzong in the Song Dynasty, we will follow the story of the five daughters of the Li family who inherited the vivacity of their mother, Madam Li, earning the family the nickname of the “six tigers of the Li family”. Noticing that her daughters are still unmarried, Madam Li decides to leave Luo-yang City to take her family to Bianjing to find the perfect match for each of her daughters. In this new town, the six women juggle between creating a tea room and finding a partner. The synopsis revealed by the streaming platform adds that everything will be punctuated “comic twists and moving moments”.
Madame Li will be played by Ni Hong Jie (To Be With You, Mr. Fighting) while Liu Xie Ning (Story of Kunning Palace, Night of Love With You) will play Shou-hua, the eldest daughter of the Li family and a devoted young widow who does not wish to remarry. Lu Yu Xiao (My Journey to You, Time and Him Are Just Right), for her part, will play Kang-ning, Madame Li’s third daughter, an independent young woman with a strong will, which earned her the nickname “Rebellious Tiger”. Ke Ying (Hard Noble Lady, A Familiar Stranger) et Huang Yang Tian Tian (Ming Ri You Qing Tian, Love in a Dream), as for them, they will play Hao-de and Le-shan, Madame Li’s youngest daughters. The first is fundamentally honest while the second is a naive, impulsive and fiery young girl. Finally, Wu Xuanyi (Rising With the Wind, Sweet Teeth) will lend her features to Fu-hui, the second daughter of the Li family and the only one to be married. She is described as being a fearless and sassy wife.
