Liverpool are playing with fire: the Salah case is gaining momentum

In the English Premier League, Liverpool pulled out all the stops against Manchester City on Sunday evening. Mohamed Salah once again played a heroic role. But despite his performance, the future of the Egyptian public’s favorite seems uncertain.

At the time, Salah began his professional career in his home country. But he was quickly spotted by FC Basel, who managed to attract him to European football. In the Swiss club, he quickly became one of the leading figures of the team.

As a result, Chelsea were quick to offer him another high-profile transfer. At the Blues, however, he didn’t get many, if any, chances. The striker therefore headed to Italy on a rental basis.

First at Fiorentina, then at AS Roma. This club ended up recruiting him permanently. A good decision, because it is in the capital that the Egyptian completely flourished.

In 2017, Salah returned to England through the front door. Liverpool paid the millions to acquire him and, at Anfield, he became one of the best players in Premier League history.

With Liverpool, he won just about every award, was voted England’s Player of the Year once and became top scorer three times. This season, Salah has stood out again. He has already scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists.

However, a big question mark hangs over its future. Indeed, Salah’s contract at Liverpool is coming to an end. For the moment, no agreement has been found to extend it.

Liverpool procrastinates

The generally reliable The Athletic site provided more details on Monday. Apparently, Salah himself is open to an extension, even if it’s only for one year. But the club’s methods would irritate him.

Thus, Liverpool would procrastinate too long and the details of their proposal would not be clear enough. An agreement therefore does not yet seem imminent tomorrow. But the club had better hurry because there are already several clubs on the lookout.
