Speaking to our colleagues from Radio Svoboda, Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Ukrainian defense intelligence services, returned to the presence of North Korean soldiers in Russia and assured that 2,000 of them were integrated into a maritime brigade and an airborne division.
While Russia and North Korea have strengthened their defense bond and that 11,000 North Korean soldiers are already in Russia, Andriy Chernyak, a representative Ukrainian defense intelligence services, revealed new information on the subject.
Speaking to Radio Svoboda, he indicates that “2,000 soldiers (North Korean, editor's note) were sent to a maritime brigade and an airborne division. Units considered by Ukraine to be “engaged in active hostilities”
He adds that these soldiers are certainly not on the front line, but that, despite everything, they participate in “aggression against Ukraine and ensure the assassination of Ukrainian soldiers.”
Up to 100,000 North Korean troops in Ukraine?
The latter also raises the possibility that North Korea could “increase its contingent to 100,000 soldiers” to support Russia. “I think there will be agreements that North Korea will be able to negotiate with the Russian authoritieswith Putin”, he adds. “Whether it is of the latest technology, food or weapons. They ask for everything. I think in line with that there will be some influx of staff.”
Finally, he emphasizes that three generals are currently present in Russia to lead the soldiers. They would be placed under high security in closed camps et “protected as much as possible”.
