After his collision in Montpellier, LOSC will try to get the machine back on track against BrestFriday (7 p.m.) at the opening of the 14th day of Ligue 1. A match for which the refereeing body has been appointed.
A big name in French refereeing on the whistle
Designated for the LOSC – Brest meeting, Benoit Bastien has already crossed paths with LOSC on 31 occasions for a favorable record of 17 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses. He has already refereed the Mastiffs twice this season, each time during championship shocks: the defeat against PSG (1-3) and the victory in the derby in Lens (2-0). Last season, he was on the whistle for the opening match in Nice (1-1) and the cruel defeat against OL (3-4).
On the Brest side, the record with Mr. Bastien is much less advantageous with a history of 12 matches for 2 wins, 4 draws and 6 losses. Even on the recent dynamic, the 41-year-old official, who has become a reference in French refereeing in recent years, does not bring back good memories for the Bretons since he was on the heavy whistle against OM (1- 5), opening this season. Note that he will be assisted by the VAR of Maxime Apruzzese and Bastien Dechepy, the latter being in the eye of the storm after his controversial performance during Lyon – Nice on Sunday.
