Work to update the Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus Miners’ Trail is underway.
The MRC des Appalaches allocated an amount of $74,158 to the municipality via the 2023-2025 Outdoor Fund. The foundations of the trail have been reworked to improve walking in summer as well as the cross-country skiing and snowshoeing experience during the winter season.
Two gazebos were installed, helping to create seating areas, one at the entrance and the other at the end of Boston Lake.
Moreover, the Miners’ Trail is open all year round, notably welcoming the La Balade cross-country skiing and snowshoeing club during the winter season. All this giving the opportunity to observe two old mine shafts; Boston and Carey emphasizes Mayor Guy Roy…
The trails are on land belonging to the Asbestos Company which allows activities to be held in summer and winter.
