Hezbollah resumes cross-border attacks against Israel

At least two mortar shells were fired by Hezbollah terrorists into northern Israel around 5 p.m. Monday evening, the first cross-border attacks from Lebanon since the start of a tenuous ceasefire last Wednesday.
Arab media said the rocket attacks were aimed at a military base.
“Recently, the terrorist organization Hezbollah launched two projectiles towards the Mount Dov region,” the Israeli army said in a brief statement.
“The projectiles landed in open areas. No injuries were reported. »
The Israeli army continues its operations to enforce the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon. This operation includes attacks against Hezbollah terrorists who violate the ceasefire agreement, which calls for terrorists to move north of the Litani River and remove all weapons and ammunition from the region.
Hezbollah issued an official statement shortly after the mortar fire, saying the attack was a warning.
“In response to the repeated violations committed by the “Israeli” enemy against the ceasefire agreement, which officially entered into force at dawn on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, and taking into account the various forms that these violations have taken – including the shooting of civilians, airstrikes in different areas of Lebanon resulting in the martyrdom of civilians and injury to others, and the continued violation of Lebanese airspace by “Israeli” warplanes, reaching to the capital, Beirut – and since attempts to address these violations with relevant parties proved unsuccessful, the Islamic Resistance conducted a preliminary defensive warning response Monday evening. »
“You have been warned. »
A Lebanese parliamentarian and member of the terrorist organization also told the Middle East Spectator shortly after the attack: “We respect the ceasefire, but we will not allow Israel to play with us and take us for fools. We can return to combat if the enemy continues their aggressive stupidity. »
