“I saw my son flying”: Vence closes a trampoline stand at its Christmas market after an incident

There will finally be no more trampoline stands this season at the Christmas market at Place du Grand-Jardin, in Vence.

At issue: an incident which occurred on Sunday December 1 and which caused quite a scare to the parents of a 5-year-old boy.

“He was jumping when all of a sudden, an elastic band came loose. I managed to catch my son in midair. It could have been very serious”immediately posted his mother on Facebook, “still in shock at having seen (son) son steal.” In one of the two photos illustrating the message, we see one of the two carabiners used to secure the open child.

“Vigilance error”

“Fortunately, this fact did not have any serious impact, other than the legitimate fear of the child and his parents. The town hall shares the family’s emotion and expresses its full solidarity”indicated, Monday, December 2, the municipality in a press release, specifying that the first deputy mayor had spoken with the family “immediately”.

Investigations carried out by municipal services revealed “an error in handling and vigilance”without notable hardware problems, “the second safety device having worked”. “Out of caution and safety”, However, the town hall decided this Monday to remove the trampoline stand concerned from the Christmas market.
