Calgary police are searching for a suspect in their investigation into an arson that took place in the city's northwest neighborhood of Hillhurst.

His description indicates that he is of medium build, approximately 1.82 meters tall, weighing 79 kilograms, with brown hair and blue eyes.

No one was injured and damage to the burned home was minimal, however several residents reported finding a letter on their front doorstep requesting a bitcoin transfer.

Extortion attempts of this type also take place in Edmonton, recalls Calgary police who are in contact with Edmonton police regarding the investigation.
