Sandy Ground: Two minors injured by firearm last night

Yesterday evening, on the night of Saturday November 30, the Saint-Martin gendarmes and firefighters were mobilized in the Sandy Ground district. “We intervened at Sandy Ground around 1:15 a.m. for two young men, aged 14 and 16, injured by firearms”indicates squadron leader François Zimmer.

One of the young people “in absolute emergency” last night

Contacted, the prosecution is able to confirm that these are indeed injuries “by firearm”. It is still too early to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy, but according to the first elements gathered by the gendarmerie, “It appears that the group was the victim of gunfire from a passing vehicle”explains François Zimmer.

Yesterday evening, the head of the fire department, Captain Anthony Arnould, specified that one of the victims presented “an impact on the pelvic girdle”. The young man was taken to hospital during the night, “in absolute emergency in the presence of a doctor”. The second young person was “injured in the hand and transported in relative emergency”. According to the latest information collected from the gendarmerie this Sunday morning, in both cases, “the vital prognosis is not engaged”.

An investigation has been opened.
