The public reading network of the Mont Saint-Michel – agglomeration community organized the first edition of its Enlivrez-vous! Readers' Prize, from May 13 to November 13, 2024. During this period, volunteer members of the network of libraries read three (minimum), from a selection of ten novels, and voted for their favorite, in one of the 19 media libraries in the region.

Saturday November 23, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Le Pressoir library in Ducey – Les Chéris (Manche), the result of the prize was announced in the presence of Caroline Hinault. This author will participate in the fourth edition of this prize in 2025. Around forty people made the trip.

Akira Mizubayashi in the lead

Annie Parent, community elected official on the Public Reading mission, thanked the participants before turning to the media library network team to discover the results.

When Sophie Thorelle, librarian at Isigny-le-Buat, announced that the novel Unforgettable suite by Akira Mizubayashi was in the lead with 18 votes out of the 71 ballots collected, several “ah!” » enthusiastic people rose from the assembly.

The 2nd prize goes to Silences of fathersby Rachid Benzine (15 votes) and the 3rd prize to What I know about you by Éric Chacour (8 votes). Unveiled last May, the titles in the selection attracted around 200 readers, and the books were borrowed 780 times.

Once the winners were revealed, four ballots were drawn. Each of these four participants won a voucher to choose a book at the bookstore From One Book to Another, in Avranches.
