After a period of relative stability, prices of domestic fuel oil are beginning a clear downward trend. This Thursday, November 28, the fall in prices is confirmed, a development directly linked to the decline in oil prices at the start of the week.
Prices falling across the entire territory
Data collected from several specialized platforms show significant declines. On Prixfioul.frthe price of ordinary fuel oil reaches €1.114 per liter, while premium fuel oil is displayed at €1.133 per liter. These prices represent a reduction of around 3 euros per 1,000 liters compared to the day before. Fioulreduc announces slightly lower average prices, at €1.112 per liter, also down by 2 euros for the same quantity. Finally, Fioulmarket displays an average of 1,098 euros per 1,000 liters, confirming this trend.
These reductions, although modest, offer a breath of fresh air to households using fuel oil for their heating, especially during this winter period.
Marked regional disparities
Prices vary by region. According to Fioulreducthe Franche-Comté offers the most advantageous rates with an average price of 1 075 euros per 1,000 liters. On the other hand, households in Champagne-Ardenne pay on average 1 149 euros for the same quantity, a difference of 74 euros. These differences are explained by logistics costs, demand levels and local supplies.
The fall in domestic fuel prices is closely linked to that of crude oil. This Thursday morning, North Sea Brent was trading at 72,12 dollars and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) at 68,57 dollars per barrel, depending on the site Prixdubaril. A continued drop in oil prices could maintain, or even accentuate, this downward trend for fuel oil in the days to come.
These reductions represent an opportunity for consumers to fill their tanks at a lower cost. However, this situation remains dependent on fluctuations in world oil prices, which are often volatile.
