A man was arrested and placed in police custody on Saturday for the murder of his father, franceinfo learned on Sunday, December 1, from a source close to the case. The suspect presented himself to the police in the afternoon, after having fled while firefighters tried to resuscitate the victim.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the firefighters intervened around 3 p.m. when the father was in cardio-respiratory arrest at home. The firefighters noticed signs of strangulation on the victim's neck, the victim's son who was present fled before the police arrived on scene. A few minutes later, the father died.
Also present at the family home, the victim's daughter claims that her brother strangled their father. According to a source close to the matter, she filmed the scene. The suspect ended up going to the Nanterre police station late in the afternoon where he was taken into police custody. The investigation will have to determine the motives for this murder. The investigation is entrusted to the Hauts-de-Seine judicial police. Contacted by franceinfo, the Nanterre public prosecutor's office has not yet responded to requests.
