Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Aleix Garcia revealed the ambitions of his coach, Xabi Alonso.
Xabi Alonso has been cited as the favorite candidate to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real. And this is the position he is aiming for for the rest of his career, according to revelations made by one of his players.
Aleix Garcia told Mundo Deportivo: “I don’t know if that’s the case (if Xabi Alonso is in contact with Real). I don’t know if it will come to fruition, but it is clear that he shows that he is at a great level. Everyone talks about it, but I see it very calm here. If this opportunity came to him, I’m sure he wouldn’t be able to say no, but I hope he stays with us.”
Xabi Alonso en stand-by
With the pressure increasing on Ancelotti due to the poor Merengue results, Xabi Alonso is therefore ready to return to the Bernabeu. However, it is difficult to see him abandoning the German champions in the middle of the season.
Garcia continued by affirming that he takes great pleasure in evolving under the orders of the Basque technician: “ He was a footballer and understands very well how a locker room works and how close he is to a player. He speaks to us very closely, not just about football, but about everything. He’s a very competitive coach and a great person.”
