Abdoul Diallo, the alleged murderer of Grenoble municipal agent Lilian Dejean, aged 49, was presented to an investigating judge then indicted and imprisoned this Saturday, indicates the Grenoble public prosecutor, Éric Vaillant, confirming information
from Dauphiné. The 25-year-old suspect, arrested north of Porto (Portugal) on November 21 after 74 days on the run, arrived at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport this Thursday. He was the subject of a European arrest warrant.
The perpetrator was driving an Audi RS3 registered in Poland on September 8. Around 7:30 a.m., the driver of this powerful sedan violently collided from behind with a Peugeot 2008 driven by an elderly woman. Lilian Dejean intervened and tried to stop the driver who fled on foot. The latter then opened fire, hitting the father of two twice, who died a few hours later in hospital.
Already convicted nineteen times
At the crime scene, police discovered two 9 mm caliber cases, according to a source close to the case. The 25-year-old suspect was quickly identified by investigators: he had left papers in his name in the damaged vehicle. Abdoul Diallo has already been convicted 19 times in the past, for acts of violence but also for drug trafficking. He had already been incarcerated several times and was released from prison on May 11.
Born in the Olympic Village district, Lilian Dejean had been employed for more than twenty years in the urban cleaning service of the City of Grenoble, where he had risen through the ranks to become a trainer.
