Club Brugge won 4-1 against Dender. Those promoted do not have to be ashamed of their performance.
Between an increasingly sovereign Club Bruges (four victories in the last five matches, a 7-0 demonstration against Sint-Truiden last weekend) and a Dender team that is more struggling (one victory in the last nine matches) , the match looked quite unbalanced on paper at the Jan Breydelstadion.
Especially since Nicky Hayen lined up what looked like a typical team. But the visitors did not come as willing victims, far from it. Quick to take advantage of the few spaces in depth, they opened the score in the quarter of an hour to everyone’s surprise thanks to Roman Kvetserved with great lucidity by Aurélien Scheidler in the rectangle (0-1).

Club Brugge took less than ten minutes to respond. The Blauw en Zwart took advantage of the opposing disorganization to in turn counterattack, Ferran Jutgla thus restored the tie, scoring his first goal of the season after a good relay with Andreas Skov Olsen.
Skov Olsen then made it 2-1 himself shortly after the half-hour mark, with a fairly slow but devilishly precise shot. Upon returning from the locker room, Dender pushed a little further, even demanding a penalty for a potential handball, but the referee did not flinch.
The Club managed its meeting, but was not really reassured. We had to wait until the last minutes to see Chemsdine Talbi put an end to the suspense, magnificently served by Kyriani Sabbe (3-1). The native of Sambreville even scored twice in added time to add a little more to the bill. Bruges finally won by a fairly large score and temporarily came within three points of Genk.
