Yesterday it became clear once again that a Maidan cannot take place in Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a press conference at the government administration, APA reports.
According to the Prime Minister, the main responsibility for yesterday’s violent protests lies with the relevant European politicians, bureaucrats and the local entity representing the “fifth column” in the form of “four political parties”.
“For the third year in a row, some European politicians and bureaucrats, who have failed to achieve the “Ukrainization” of Georgia, are continuously trying to use the candidate status and the issue of opening negotiations to weaken the country, fueling polarization in Georgia. We recall that, during these three years, the main tools used to undermine the country’s image and repress society were the candidate status and the opening of negotiations. Yesterday it became clear to everyone that everyone knows everything very well. Radicals and their foreign sponsors are always looking for excuses to destabilize the country and turn Georgia into Ukraine. They still do not understand that, unlike Ukraine of 2013, Georgia is an independent state with strong institutions and, above all, an experienced and wise people, and that its strength cannot be shaken,” says the Prime Minister.
