The end is approaching for this Formula 1 season. This Sunday 1is December, the paddock is in Qatar for the penultimate Grand Prix of the year. A race that Max Verstappen will contest once again as world champion, he who won his fourth consecutive title with Red Bull last week in Las Vegas. “My titles have all been very different, but I think this one was very rewarding“, confided the Dutchman at a press conference. “It hasn’t always been the easiest for us as a team and to come away with this championship… I definitely felt it when I crossed the line in Vegas, I was like, ‘This.’ is done’! It’s been difficult at times, but I’m very proud of how we handled everything. I’m just trying to do my best at the end of the season and for next year, we know we have a lot of things to improve, and that’s what we’re going to try to work on. Once we start next year, we’ll see where we are. It’s not really something I’m thinking about at the moment.“
The challenges of the end of the Formula 1 season
If the 2024 world champion is already there, the end of the season has no shortage of challenges. The constructors’ championship, very popular with the teams, is still hotly contested. At the top of the ranking, McLaren (608 points) and Ferrari (584 points) are competing for first place. With more than 50 points behind, Red Bull remains mathematically in ambush. As for the driver rankings, Lando Norris (McLaren) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) must still compete for the place of vice-world champion.
