A new day of promotions for stays, hotels and transport which tends to be imported into France. Usually taking place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, this year Travel Tuesday will take place on December 3, 2024.
Travel Tuesday is “a day of travel-only deals and discounts from hotel companies, airlines, travel agencies and more”indicates the British daily, The Independant. This new consumerist tradition was established by the online reservation platform, Hopper, in 2017.
In the United States the phenomenon has started to gain momentum with an increase in requests for Travel Tuesday of 500% between 2021 and 2023 according to McKinsey & Company.
In France, Travel Tuesday would allow savings of around 15 to 25% according to 20 minutes.fr. To make the most of it, the site recommends starting your research on Monday evening. This is indeed the time when airlines are likely to publish their promotional offers.
The media also recommends thinking about the return flight now, as round-trip offers are often more advantageous than single flights. It is also better to remain flexible regarding travel conditions in order to benefit from the best discounts.
