Eager to quickly hurt their opponent of the day, FC Annecy came close to hitting hard from the first minute of play but neither Bermont nor Cissé managed to complete an interesting move in the locals' area. With a gradual increase in power, Jura Sud ended up reacting and it took two significant defensive returns from Pajot (23rd) then Riou (44th) to allow the Haut-Savoyards to avoid an unpleasant surprise. Shortly after the half hour mark, it was Dago's turn to stand out thanks to a cross from Bermont (34th), but the National 2 residents held on to keep their clean sheet.
It was the Jurassians who fitted in best in the second act of this 8th round poster. Notably through Daramy who got the best opportunity of the game against a decisive Callens (48th), then by Mroivili, frustrated by another last-minute save from Pajot (58th). The local captain tried his luck again ten minutes later, but this time, it was Callens who prevented him from making the Edouard-Guillon stadium roar (68th). For their part, Laurent Guyot's men did not create any real opportunities and ultimately, only a penalty shootout seemed able to decide between the two teams.
The first ten shooters succeeded in their attempt, and it was during sudden death that the fate of the game was decided. Paris won its duel for the 6th Annecy shot, and in the process, Callens won against Baradji and sent Annecy to the 32nd final of the Coupe de France.
