Hamas Releases Video Of Hostage Idan Alexander

In a new act of psychological warfare, Hamas released a video on Saturday showing Israeli-American hostage Idan Alexander, 20, held captive in Gaza since October 7.

The young man, who had made aliyah to Israel as an “lone soldier” (young immigrant with no family in the country), had chosen to serve in the Israeli army. He emigrated alone to Israel before being kidnapped during the October 7 attacks.

This broadcast is part of Hamas' strategy aimed at exerting psychological pressure on Israeli society. The family of Idan Alexander confirmed on Saturday evening the authenticity of the video released by Hamas showing their son in captivity. She asks that her privacy be respected during these difficult times.

The Hostage Families Forum responded in a statement: “This filmed evidence puts an end to all the rumors – there are hostages alive and they are suffering terribly. We are their only hope!” The Forum is calling for a rally this Saturday evening at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv and across the country.

“Despite significant military successes against Hamas in Gaza and the elimination of its leaders, the organization will not be defeated as long as it holds even one hostage, living or dead. There will be no neither recovery nor victory before the return of the 101 hostages – the living for their rehabilitation, and the dead for a burial in their country”, concludes the press release.
