Christmas bonus paid to more than two million households
On Tuesday, December 17, all beneficiaries of active solidarity income (RSA) or the specific solidarity allowance (ASS) or the retirement equivalent allowance (AER) will receive the Christmas bonus. The amounts are the same as in 2023, i.e. 152.45 euros for a person living alone. The premium then increases depending on the number of people in each household.
On the other hand, the 35% Christmas bonus granted in 2023 to single-parent families will not be paid this year.
Increase in gas prices
The average gas price increase will be 2.24%, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission. The price of MWh will increase from 37.79 euros in November to 40.33 euros in December.
Doctor appointments will cost more
From December 22, medical consultations will increase. For an appointment with a general practitioner, it will cost 30 euros compared to 26.50 euros until now. For children under six years old, the amount will increase from 31.50 euros to 35 euros. Specialist consultations will also increase. You will have to pay 55 euros to see a psychiatrist or 37 euros for a gynecologist (the amount should increase again in June and rise to 40 euros). On the other hand, teleconsultations remain at 25 euros for the next five years.
More secure prescriptions
To obtain medications based on tramadol or codeine, you will now need a more detailed prescription. The dosage, dosage and duration must be written in full. Validity will be limited to three months.
Opening of Parcoursup
High school students will be able to access the Parcoursup platform from December 18, the day when the “training map” will be available. They will be able to find out about all the possible paths after high school.
Salary increase in the hotel and catering industry
According to a decree of November 5, 2024 and an amendment of June 19, 2024, the conventional minimums will increase in the hotel and catering professions. The lowest gross hourly salary will now amount to 12 euros.

You have until Monday, December 16 to pay the housing tax on second homes or the tax on vacant housing. Payment can be made in cash, by check, by direct debit, by bank card from an approved partner or directly from the specific area on the tax website.
Concerning the property tax on second homes, it is still possible to switch to monthly payments until December 15.
