Bob Bryar was found at his home last Tuesday in an advanced state of decomposition, according to information reported by TMZ. The former musician had not been seen since November 4. Although authorities do not suspect any criminal intent, the exact cause of his death remains unknown at this time. Two dogs present in the house were entrusted to animal control services after the macabre discovery.
Bob Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, while working as a sound technician for the band The Used. He replaced original drummer Matt Pelissier and quickly became a key member of the lineup. Shortly after his arrival, the band released Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, an album that catapulted them to alternative rock stars.
Bryar also contributed to “The Black Parade” (2006), a concept album that has become legendary. Certified quadruple platinum in the United States, this album dominated the rankings, notably ranking number 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums in 2006 and number 2 on the Billboard 200. His work allowed My Chemical Romance to establish themselves as an essential group of its generation.
During the filming of the Famous Last Words music video, Bryar and singer Gerard Way were seriously injured. The drummer notably suffered third-degree burns, an incident which forced the group to cancel several concerts, including their participation in the San Diego Street Scene Festival. These injuries had a long-term impact on Bryar’s health, leading to the cancellation of further dates subsequently.
In March 2010, after six years with the group, Bob Bryar left My Chemical Romance. “ This decision was difficult for all of us to make and was not taken lightly “, declared the group at the time, while wishing the best to their former comrade.

After leaving the group, Bryar continued to work in the music industry by accompanying other groups on tour. Later, he changed path and moved into real estate, according to information from TMZ. However, his contribution to alternative rock and the music of the 2000s will not be forgotten by the group’s fans, who are now mourning his death.
