A fire destroyed a house in Mandelieu-La Napoule, seriously injuring an 80-year-old man. Emergency services quickly brought the fire under control.

Yesterday evening, around 8 p.m., a violent fire ravaged a detached house located at 438 chemin de la Théoulière, in Mandelieu-La Napoule. Firefighters quickly intervened to control the fire which devastated part of this 100 m² home.
Rapid and coordinated intervention
The fire, described as “widespread”, mainly affected the kitchen and the entrance to this four-room house. A fire hose was deployed to put out the flames. The intervention mobilized 24 firefighters spread over five engines, demonstrating the extent of the resources deployed to secure the area.
ERDF services, the municipal police and the gendarmerie were also present on the scene to guarantee security and coordinate rescue actions.
A victim in serious condition
During the intervention, firefighters discovered a man aged around 80 years old in the burning house. Seriously injured, he was treated immediately by the fire brigade nurse on site. After being stabilized, he was transported as a medical emergency to the Pasteur II Hospital Center in Nice for intensive care.

Although the fire was brought under control thanks to the effectiveness of the emergency services, the causes of the fire remain unknown for the moment. An investigation should be carried out to determine the origin of the incident and ensure that no other victims or damage have been overlooked.
