It was this summer that the Motorola Edge 50 Neo joined the large Edge 50 family, which already included Pro, Fusion and Ultra versions. And the technical sheet of this recent smartphone is sure to seduce, with its 120 Hz OLED panel, its robustness and above all its design which flatters the retina. It is certainly not perfect, but this Edge 50 Neo at least has the advantage of being offered at a great price (-30%) during Black Friday.

A neat and original design
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo first of all adopts a particularly elegant design, with its vegan leather back (which, however, looks more like textured rubber) very soft to the touch and its well-integrated optical block which blends very naturally into the shell. Let's also not forget to mention the partnership with Pantone, which allows you to enjoy quite unique colors, like this vibrant “Poinciana”. The brand has also not forgotten to make its smartphone very robust, first by opting for IP68 certification, but also for MIL-STD 810H certification, a military standard which ensures proper operation at extreme temperatures and resistance to shock and vibration. Just that.
On the screen side, we are entitled here to a 6.4-inch pOLED panel with a definition of 2760 x 1256 pixels. It is also LTPO, which allows you to benefit from a dynamic refresh rate of 1 Hz up to 120 Hz. Overall, the screen appears to be quite well calibrated, despite a slight drift towards the blues. We would still have liked better brightness, which would have made it possible to not miss the details offered by HDR content, especially when the environment is a little dark.
Honorable performances
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo also features its Motorola UI interface based on Android 14, still as refined and rich in customization options. Also note that the brand offers five years of major and security updates. This is quite rare in the mid-range market. In terms of performance, the smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, supported by 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a Mali G-615 GPU. If in use, Android and the applications appear to be quite fluid, some slight lags or slowdowns may occur. On the gaming side, casual gamers will find what they are looking for, but the most demanding will find this smartphone too limited and not very powerful.
In terms of its photo performance, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo offers a very versatile photo block with a 50 Mpx wide-angle main sensor, a 13 Mpx ultra-wide-angle and a 10 Mpx telephoto lens; the front camera integrates a 32 Mpx sensor. In action, the main sensor offers very detailed shots in broad daylight, with beautiful sharpness, while with the ultra wide-angle, the contrasts are too accentuated and the details erased. Finally, regarding its autonomy, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo contains a 4,310 mAh battery, enough to last around fifteen hours in normal use. We remember much more the 68 W fast charging, which allows you to recover 44% of the battery in 20 minutes.
