In a match that went in all directions in the second half, Provence Rugby, in its fortress of the Maurice-David stadium, managed to come out on top against the red lantern of Nice in the south-east derby. Victorious 33-30 after leading 20-7 at the break, the Aixois kept their place in the top 6 of the Pro D2 when the Eagles brought back an encouraging defensive bonus point from their short trip to Provence.
This Friday, November 29 in the evening, the Maurice-David stadium in Aix-en-Provence hosted a derby. This derby is that of the south-east, played for the first time in its history in Pro D2 between Provence Rugby and Stade Niçois Rugby. The last time that the Provençaux hosted the Azuréens… it was in February 2009, in Federal 1 (6-12 victory for the visitors). This time, in a sold-out venue for the tenth time in a row, we expected the locals, much better ranked than the Niçois, dead last in class, to dominate the debates. If they win at the end of the game, the path to victory has been strewn with pitfalls.
