Played for an hour ten against ten, the derby between Stade Briochin and US Saint-Malo was finally decided on penalties. He smiled at the Griffons, despite being outsiders at kick-off.

Fate chose its side during the fateful penalty shootout. He opted for the locals' camp. The outcome of a curious match, which we expected to be more exciting when Stade Briochin then Saint-Malo were reduced to ten men. Two severe expulsions for high feet from Gomis (26') and A. Diakhaby (33'), respectively on Magnon and Diakité. Hit in the eyebrow, the Saint-Malo midfielder then had to leave his teammates (39').
Leroyer, the unfortunate
Before that, everyone had their big opportunity. Gerbeaud's volley found L'Hostis, the griffon goalkeeper, on its way (9'). Then Yobé's half-volley crashed into Escandre's crossbar (22'). The rest was less disheveled than expected, with spaces certainly but a touch of nervousness and ultimately few opportunities.
Logical, ultimately, that all this ends on penalties. Authors of a flawless performance, the Briochins won 5-4 after Hostis stopped the 5th and last shot from Malouin, taken too weakly by Leroyer.
