The body of the animal was found in the middle of a departmental road this Thursday, November 28, 2024, more than two kilometers from the nearest beach, according to our colleagues at Actu.fr.
The photo of the seal stranded on the asphalt made the rounds on social networks before it was moved to the side of the road and the gendarmerie intervened.
How did he get here?
The presence of the dead seal on the road remains a mystery. Knowing that the transport of this protected species, without authorization, constitutes an offense.
For now, the body of the animal is lying by the side of the road. It would not have been officially moved from the beach, because the town hall of Ploubazlanec assured at midday that no technical services team had come to recover the seal. “We don’t understand what happened… It’s in any case unprecedented in Ploubazlanec,” the city confides to Actu.fr.
