Since January 2024, Aurélie Fournier has been the director of Ixina Rodez, a store located in Sébazac-Concourès. A position that the Aveyronnaise would never have thought of reaching. She grew up in Gabriac. A native land that she never wanted to leave. His father was a carpenter. “He was always tinkering, I loved watching him when I was little and learning things.” An aspiration for manual work that she has kept ever since.
“I had just completed my business technology baccalaureate, I was fed up, I wanted to enter the world of work. “ She first initiated research to do a beautician CAP. In vain. Then, she comes across a mysterious announcement. She applied and found herself, by chance, a sales designer in an independent kitchen designer company in Aveyron for six years. A happy coincidence. “ I didn't know the job at all, and it became a passion. I love contact with customers and having to find ideas that they hadn't had, looking for the “wow” in their eyes, it's a challenge “says the young woman.
“I learn every day”
At the age of 25, she became a mother. “I had restrictive schedules and I wanted to see something else.” She then changed jobs to become a secretary in the construction industry. An opportunity that she seized, but quickly regretted. “I was unhappy, I no longer had this contact with customers and I missed the creative aspect of my job.”
In 2015, she decided to return to her first love. “I had my two children, I wanted to think about myself.” A date which corresponds to the opening of the Ixina Rodez store. “I didn't want to join an existing team. When I saw the advert, I said to myself why not come back to my job.” After five weeks of training and three weeks of immersion in a store in Montpellier, she took up her position as a sales designer. A position that she leaves in January 2024 to replace the former director, who died tragically. “At the first job interview, I immediately expressed my desire to progress”. And it's done. “I learn every day”she rejoices.
His days have been full since. Today, she is responsible for three sales designers, a fitter and a technical manager. “We run everywhere. I have to follow up with the sellers, check the files before the sale, think about partners, check that the store is clean…” But what she appreciates most about her new role, “it’s getting sellers to make their sales happen”.
While there were just 100 stores 10 years ago, there are now 191. Known for selling custom kitchens, Ixina Rodez has, for 2-3 years, been offering dressing rooms, offices, living room furniture and furniture. bathroom. A development which she welcomes.
For the future, the mother is more motivated than ever. “The economic market is difficult and it was felt in 2023. This year, we will do well because we have worked hard to achieve good results. In 2025, the objective is to find more partners to further develop the store.” Also, the whole range will change. “We are going to have drawer boxes with a thinner design and more adaptability”promises the director.
