From mid-morning until late afternoon, no vehicles could pass on this portion of Boulevard de la Liberté. Around ten tractors block the road on either side of the sub-prefecture of Redon (Ille-et-Vilaine). Loud detonations also ring out every three minutes. Those of scarers usually used to scare away jackdaws which ravage crops. Farmers in the south of Ille-et-Vilaine, from Val d'Anast to Renac, are entering Act II of the agricultural mobilization this Friday, November 29, 2024.
A mobilization focused on overadministration
Some had demonstrated last January, but since then nothing had been organized in the Redon region. Mobilization is however seen as “a continuation of the actions carried out since November 18 in Ille-et-Vilaine. We have already mobilized against the proposed Mercosur free trade agreement or for taking into account the damage caused by wild boars in crops”Bruno Gauthier, director of the FDSEA of Ille-et-Vilaine.
