Libreville, Friday November 29, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – Unsurprisingly, Yes wins the referendum vote of November 16, 2024 with 91.64% of the votes. This victory was validated this Friday by the Constitutional Court of the Transition which proclaimed the final results of the referendum.
While partially modifying the results announced by the Ministry of the Interior, the Constitutional Court validated the results of the 2024 referendum. As a result, the Yes finally won with 91.64% instead of the 91.80% declared by the Minister of the Interior. the interior.
The Yes vote came well ahead in this election during which the Gabonese people were called upon to approve or reject the draft constitution submitted for their consideration by the government. This is what the Constitutional Court confirmed, affirming that Yes won the election of November 16, 2024.
The Yes supporters did not campaign for nothing in explaining the issues of this special election. Without ambiguity, the Constitutional Court of the transition, through its president Dieudonné Aba’a Owono, maintained that the Yes had obtained 91.64% of the votes against 8.36% for the No.
“After examining the various results of all the commissions, the court proclaims, the referendum of November 16, 2024 on the bill establishing the constitution of the Gabonese Republic gave the following overall results: (…) Votes obtained for the Yes 381,581 votes, or 91.64%, for No 34,802 votes, or 8.36%,” he said.
Which means that this score has decreased, compared to the provisional results of the Ministry of the Interior and Security since the Yes had obtained 91.80% of the votes.
On the other hand, the participation rate was revised upwards, i.e. 54.18% against 53.34% of the Ministry of the Interior, in charge of the organization of political elections in the Gabonese Republic as decided at the inclusive national dialogue of April 2024.
Note that no appeal contesting the results has been registered with the Constitutional Court, whose decision is final and applicable to all. The applicants had 10 days to appeal to the high court after the announcement of the provisional results.
