As part of their educational project, the students of the second professional class Abil organized this solidarity cross.
Like last year, this Tuesday, November 26 at 10 a.m., a cross country was held at the Coulounieix-Chamiers agricultural high school and for the benefit of the Telethon. As part of a collective project, the sixteen high school students from the second professional class Abil (Food bio-industries laboratory) organized this event involving all the students and the entire educational community.
The principle is simple: each lap of the track, 400 meters long, made allows a donation to be made for the benefit of the AFM Téléthon. In practice, there are teams of three riders who take turns on the track. One runs, the other waits for the relay to pass and the third notes the time. Each person takes turns taking the place of the other. And in the end, one kilometer brings in one euro. A refreshment point with hot drinks and treats was also planned.
A check for 1000 euros
Prior to this project, reflection was carried out on the notion of commitment by meeting the manager of the AFM Téléthon Dordogne. Subsequently, mobilization and communication work led to the search for funding. For two months, the students organized a pastries sale every Thursday at the high school. The solidarity cross poster was also created by the students with the requirements imposed by the AFM Téléthon such as the colors or the theme “All builders”.
The pastries from the Firmin bakery on rue Wilson in Périgueux were resold with a small profit to fund the kitty. The Coulounieix-Chamiers Intermarché as well as Crédit Agricole also largely sponsored the event. Finally, a check for 1,000 euros was symbolically given by a student to the association who thanked all the high school students. The teachers, Yvonne Illande, and sports teachers, Philippe Bon and Isabelle Clergerie supported the students in their project. The cross took place in a good atmosphere with lively music which motivated students and teachers to do some rhythmic dances.
