These partial DNA traces do not belong to any member of the family of the little boy, who disappeared on July 8, 2023 in Vernet.

A year and four months after the disappearance of little Emile, the case experienced a twist. Two unknown traces of human DNA were discovered on the bones and clothes of the little boy, a source close to the case said this Friday. Figaroconfirming the information from RTL.

The DNA traces discovered during a series of analyzes carried out within the IRCGN, the Criminal Research Institute of the Gendarmerie, are partial but it is certain that they do not belong to a member of the family of the child.

The little boy disappeared on July 8, 2023, in Vernet, a village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence with 125 inhabitants, perched at an altitude of 1,200 meters. On March 30, 2024, bones belonging to the little boy were discovered near the hamlet, by a hiker. On April 8, new bones were found. For the moment, the death of little Émile remains unexplained, nor has the accidental or criminal possibility been ruled out.
