The ex-spouse of a woman, whose body was found in February in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (Rhône), partially charred and with her hands and feet tied, was arrested in Marseille and indicted for murder, the Lyon prosecutor's office said on Friday.
The man was indicted on Tuesday and placed in pre-trial detention as part of an open judicial investigation “on the count of murder by spouse”, specified the prosecution, confirming information from BFM Lyon.
His body discovered in an abandoned house
The suspect, who was the subject of an arrest warrant, was arrested in Marseille last weekend during a caravan theft, according to the local news channel.
On February 11, the body of the victim, aged 45, was discovered in an uninhabited house, and investigators were studying a connection with a woman whose disappearance had been reported three days earlier.
The forty-year-old, who lived in Saint-Genis-Laval, south of Lyon, had been the subject of threats following a breakup with her partner.
