Important match for the maintenance between Cornebarrieu and UO Pamiers, two teams suffering since the start of the season in their men's Regional 2 group. The UOP must produce a result to avoid dropping out (Saturday at 9 p.m.).
ABB Cornebarrieu (10th; 2v-5l) – UO Pamiers (11th, 1v-6l); this evening, at 9 p.m., Saint-Exupéry gymnasium, in Blagnac.- Despite its good performance against Cugnaux's understudies two weeks ago, the UOP fell one place in the rankings. The fault of the confrontation between the last two of the class which took place at the same time and which saw Cornebarrieu double his victory capital at the expense of Frouzins. The Ariégeois therefore find themselves in a slightly envious penultimate place, under the threat of a return to Regional 3, more than ten years after having had a short stay there.
With its limited resources (sparse workforce at the start, then reduced by absences) and a schedule that is still quite complicated (in seven matches, the UOP met the first four), the Appameans are quite simply in their place.
Facing them will be Cornebarriens who are hardly better off and who seem to be following the worrying trajectory of the residents of La Rijole. The reception in Pamiers will be the fifth home meeting for the Toulouse suburbanites, with only one success: against the Gersois of Mas-d'Auvignon Saint-Puy, known for being much less valiant away from their atypical venue. The Yellows and Blacks will therefore have their chances against a team a little more within their reach than the Auscitains reservists and the Cugnalais, recent adversaries encountered by the UOP.
However, Romain Soula's men will be obliged to achieve results. While the penultimate and the antepenultimate will compete for a victory which will be worth a lot, Colomiers, ninth just ahead of the two protagonists, will host Frouzins. A new Appamean defeat combined with a very likely Columérin success against the last and the UOP would be relegated to two victories away from tenth place in the group, a priori protective of a disaster scenario in Nationale 3 (without descents of the clubs Occitans of this last division, only the twelfth and last place would be synonymous with relegation). After some good performances that were poorly rewarded against the top teams, will the Appameans finally find some success?
